Clean Out Your Cache - Chrome

We all know that when we're having issues with a website, the first step tech support will tell you to do is to clear out your cache. Here are some simple to follow instructions to show you how to clear out your cache.

Step-by-step guide

To clear out your cache in Chrome:

  1. Open a new Chrome window.
  2. Navigate to the settings menu. This is usually three dots in the upper right-hand side of the browser window and is shown in red in the image below:



  3. Click on "History" and then select "History" again from the fold out menu. This will open the History menu for Chrome.



  4. The upper left-hand corner of the new screen looks like the below image. Click "Clear Browsing Data."



  5. A pop-up screen that looks like the below screen will appear, with the below check boxes automatically selected. To ensure that the cache is completely cleared, you'll want to make sure to select the time frame for the wipe to be from "the beginning of time," also demonstrated below.



  6. Select "Clear Browing Data."
  7. Close and re-open Chrome.
